  • Dinner at Duke's at the Lihue Marriott just before sunset. Excellent!
  • Kayaks lined up outside the Marriott.
  • Still outside the Marriott as the setting sun colours the clouds.
  • Back to look at the Waimea Canyon, this time by car to one of the lookouts.
  • Setting off on our sunset cruise via Captain Andy out of Port Allen on the south of the island.

  • All that rain has to go somewhere. There are waterfalls like this dotted all over the place.
  • Mist descending down the cliffs.
  • Lots of elements here - the Pacific, the beach, the rocky shore, the mountains behind with misty rain enveloping the top.
  • There are those buttresses again. Love the different colours on display.

  • So fascinating I can't stop photographing them!
  • The varied light on the shore attracted me here.
  • Another of those waterfalls. This one has eroded the rock over time and created its own entry into a cave.
  • The skipper was able to manouvre the boat pretty close to caves and sheer rock walls!
  • Getting closer to sunset. With those clouds around it should be spectacular.

  • Lots of shadows make the rock face interesting.
